An impressive image-editing softwareĪll in all, DxO PhotoLab is a solid option and offers an impressive set of features. It also tends to adapt and provide support for new cameras noticeably slower than Lightroom. There are a few shortcomings, though, such as no multi-image editing support. Its denoise engine is in a class of its own, and its automatic image adjustment feature will appeal to more users. One of its standout features is its noise reduction feature using its DeepPRIME algorithm.ĭxO PhotoLab fares well against Adobe Lightroom. If you shoot in RAW format and want more control and options, it also offers a variety of manual adjustment sliders to help you tweak images to your preferred style. The program will have two modes that you can choose from: PhotoLibrary is where you can manage and organize all of your photos, and Customize is where you will be doing all your image editing and tuning requirements.ĭxO PhotoLab is quite beginner-friendly with its automatic lens and image correction feature. Three installs and two uninstalls with the same results of the icon coming and going. When you first launch DxO PhotoLab, you will be greeted with a clean user interface that features a dark theme. So, I hope you can see why I think that P元 is responsible in some way. The thumbnails look fine, it’s just the above icon in the lower right of all RAW files only. I suspect the program has made a call to one of Windows stock icons. So, I once again installed P元 trial, and the icon went away. That worked to rid the mystery icon for about an hour, but oddly, it popped back down there. I reinstalled the trial and the icon went away, so I used it a bit, and then used Revo uninstaller to remove it and any remnants. After the initial uninstall using windows uninstaller, and saw the mystery icon, I manually scrubbed the registry and HDD (I know my way around in that rabbit hole), which didn’t work, and trust me, there were a lot of DxO leftovers (remnants). Since it took so long to get my post “approved”, I’ve had time to try some things. I’ve used DPP for years, and it has never attached an icon to my RAW previews. Please note that in my OP, I never said it was a P元 logo, but that it appeared after the uninstall of the trial.
